For over a decade, B-E Home Inspections, LLC. has been serving the real estate market in Northwest Indiana and Southwestern Michigan.

As a small company, we can offer individualized service to all of our clients. We don't do inspections in a "cookie cutter" way, since we see each client with individual concerns that need to be addressed. Each structure, as well, is unique and deserves a through and knowledgeable investigation of all of it's components and systems.

Over the years we have done inspections for buyers, sellers, investors, Banks, Insurance companies... anybody who needs to know about the condition of a property.

My Qualifications

First off, my back ground is not in the building trades.  For 30 years I held various positions in the high tech industry, marketing and developing computers and computer related products and programs.

I have always been good with working with my hands. My interest in home inspections came from buying my first investment / rehab property project in the early 90's. Over the years this sideline offered me many lessons, from looking at many structures, making comparisons to choose the best property, comparing properties based on estimated rehab / construction costs, prioritizing jobs, understanding structure, choosing different materials.  During this time, I learned and honed my knowledge of every aspect of what makes a good, well constructed structure. 

One day while inspecting a possible purchase with a friend, he suggested to me that I might find interest in the field of property inspection.  This conversation lead to some research and my joining the world wide inspection association -  InterNACHI (International Association of Certified Home Inspectors) 

Since those early days, I am  still a member of InterNACHI, drawing on and adding to their wealth of knowledge in the property inspection business.  

In 2005 Indiana began licensing home inspectors. Part of the licensing process requires a 60 hour training program.  The local campus of Purdue University contacted me to set up an adult training program for those who wanted to get licensed by the state. I have been teaching this course since it's first offering. 

Many of our clients, an often their financing agent, want, a WDO / WDI inspection. Often called a termite inspection, I am fully licensed by the state to offer this service.

As a teacher, I love to learn, so I maintain a regular schedule of continuing education and training,  covering all aspects of inspection, building materials and techniques.

• I am fully licensed and insured by the State of Indiana
• I am fully licensed and insured to perform WDO/WDI inspections by the State of Indiana 
• I am certified to inspect and take samples for mold, air environment, allergens, and water quality
• I am a certified FHA inspector
• I am a approved Inspector for the Indiana Housing & Community Development Authority (IHCDA)
• Certified Weatherization Auditor
• Founder and current President - TriState Association of Home Inspectors            (a meeting and training venue for Inspectors)
